Samsung: S6 Edge curved screen is difficult to make

Two Samsung S6 Edge phones showing the wrap around curved screenSamsung's new flagship mobile phones go on sale today but the company says it may struggle to meet demand for its S6 Edge model.
Although Samsung predicts greater interest in its more conventionally designed S6 model, it is worried about the time it takes to manufacturer components for the distinctive wrap-around touch screen on the S6 Edge.
Experts say it could lead to consumers having to order and then wait for the model, and delay any fall in its price.
Samsung faces strong competition from Apple at the high-end of the market while much cheaper smart phones made in China challenge its position at lower price points.
Mobile analyst, Thomas Husson at Forrester told the BBC: "They [Samsung] will have a serious issue if the shortage is due to the difficulty of producing the curved screen.
"Samsung must succeed in the launch of these new flagship phones to regain leadership in the high-end segment. They have a window of opportunity until the new iPhone comes out. The product and design is great - but [it] lacks service differentiation."

Lewis Hamilton Mercedes deal could be worth £27m a year

Lewis Hamilton Mercedes deal could be worth £27m a year

Lewis Hamilton on the podium in Malaysia
World champion Lewis Hamilton expects to sign a new Mercedes contract this week that could be worth more than £27m a year.
The 30-year-old Briton, who has been handling negotiations with team bosses himself, says talks are complete and the deal is being finalised by lawyers.
Hamilton said: "It should be done this week. There is no reason it shouldn't.
"Honestly, it's 99.6% done. There's no negotiating left, it's just legal stuff."
BBC Sport has learned Hamilton, who joined Mercedes in 2013 after six years with McLaren, will earn about the same as he did under his first contract with the German team - a basic salary, paid in US dollars, of $31m (£20.9m) plus extensive bonuses.
Depending on how many races he wins, and whether he becomes world champion, these bonuses could easily take his annual earnings well over $40m (£27m)

Radamel Falcao: Manchester United

Radamel Falcao: Manchester United striker equals goal record

Radamel Falcao
On-loan Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao has equalled Colombia's national scoring record with his 24th goal for his country.
Falcao, at Old Trafford on a season's loan from Monaco, drew level with Arnoldo Iguaran's record by scoring a penalty in a 3-1 win over Kuwait.
It was his third goal in two friendlies in the Middle East, having hit two inThursday's 6-0 win against Bahrain.
The 29-year-old has four goals in 22 games for United so far this season.
Colombia, who are warming up for the Copa America to be played in in Chile from June, took the lead with an Abel Aguilar volley in the 22nd minute.
Kuwait defender Mesaed Al Enezi equalised at a corner on the stroke of half-time, before substitute Edwin Cardona and Falcao sealed the win for Jose Pekerman's side.
Falcao's loan deal at United, worth £265,000 per week, expires at the end of the season, when the club must decide whether to take up a £43.5m option to buy him.

Disturbing VIDEO – Rey Mysterio Accidentally Kills Fellow Wrestler in The Ring

MEXICO CITY — The son of a Mexican wrestling legend died early Saturday from a blow suffered in the ring, the Baja California state prosecutor’s office said.
Pedro Aguayo Ramirez, known as Hijo del Perro Aguayo, fell unconscious on the ropes, apparently after receiving a flying kick from fellow wrestler Oscar Gutierrez, known as former WWE star Rey Mysterio Jr., according to video of the match in a municipal auditorium in Tijuana.

The match continued for almost two minutes before other participants and the referee realized Aguayo was seriously injured and tended to him.
He was taken to a hospital a block away and died about 1:30 a.m., prosecutor’s spokesman Raul Gutierrez said.
“I have no words for this terrible news,” Joaquin Roldan, director of the AAA wrestling federation, said through his Twitter account. “My sincerest condolences for the Aguayo Ramirez family.”
The state prosecutor’s office said the cause of death, based on the autopsy, was trauma to the neck and a cervical fracture. It has opened an investigation into possible manslaughter.
The company that reportedly organized the event, The Crash, couldn’t be reached for comment. The Tijuana Boxing and Wrestling Commission called the death an unfortunate accident like those that occur in other high-risk sports.
Even though the match continued as Aguayo hung listless on the ropes, commission President Juan Carlos Pelayo said people moved immediately to check his condition. He said the doctor in charge was not at ringside because he was treating another injured wrestler, but paramedics and a doctor who was a spectator attended to Aguayo.
“The reaction for medical attention was quick, in my opinion,” Pelayo said at a news conference Saturday.
Mexico is famous for its colorful characters and costumes in professional wrestling, popularly known as lucha libre, where fighters perform daring aerial maneuvers inside and outside the ring.
Aguayo, 35, had wrestled for 20 years and was the son of the legendary Pedro “Perro” Aguayo, now retired and a member of the Aztec lucha Hall of Fame.
The younger Aguayo was also popular and led a group called “Los Perros de Mal,” or the bad dogs. He won numerous titles, including national pairs with his father, a national heavyweight championship and the Consejo Mundial Lucha Libre world trios championship.
“It makes me very sad because he was a professional colleague and I have great affection for his father,” wrestler Hijo del Santo said in a telephone interview. “I think the fans in Japan, the U.S. and Mexico, of course, where he was very popular, must be in mourning, especially because of his youth. He had much ahead of him.”

Super-Short Workouts

Heard of the 7-minute workout? How about Tabata? Both are just a few minutes. The trick is, you work harder than you thought possible, pushing yourself to the max. If you're not in shape now, start with something more moderate.

Indoor Cycling Class

This trend is here to stay. In some, you can compete against your classmates. Many programs also use upper-body weights. Some places combine cycling with yoga or Pilates

Zumba: Dance Fitness

Zumba wants your workout to party! This high-energy dance fitness class moves to Latin and international beats instead of counting repetitions. It's one of the most popular workouts, and it burns more calories than kickboxing or step aerobics. Zumba Step, a new type of Zumba to pump up the intensity, combines the dance moves of Zumba with a step for toning and strengthening legs and glutes.

Apps for Exercise

Fitness trackers such as the Fitbit and GoWear Fit measure your steps, calories burned, and calories eaten. They can even monitor your sleep. The information can be uploaded and tracked on your computer. There are also apps that show you exactly what to do in your workout and explain good form, so you do it right.

Throwback: That Moment when this South African MP Fell off a Chair During Live TV Interview

Video: South African MP Falling off a Chair During Live TV Interview
It happened more than 6 years ago, but I still find this clip funny. The guy literally heard and felt it coming.

South African MP Nhlanhla Nene (Current Finance minister), was being interviewed live on SABC about the mini budget. A snap is first heard causing a slight grimace of concern, but was quickly ignored.

A few seconds later, the MP was definitely regretting not adjusting his weight to ‘make himself lighter’, after the chair gave way.

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao face off in Los Angeles

Floyd Mayweather & Manny Pacquiao face off in Los Angeles

Floyd Mayweather said "the world will stop" when he fights Manny Pacquiao on 2 May as they were face-to-face for the last time before the weigh-in.
Mayweather, who has won all 47 of his fights, told Pacquiao at a press conference in Los Angeles on Wednesday that he was not ready to taste defeat.
Pacquiao had earlier said  that he would beat the American for the good of boxing.
The Filipino fighter has a record of 57 wins, two draws and five losses.
"May 2 - the world stops. Mayweather v Pacquiao is the biggest fight in history," Mayweather said.
The fight, which has been the subject of on-off contract negotiations over six years, is expected to generate as much as £162m ($250m).

Who won the verbals?

In low-key speeches in front of about 700 media, both fighters spent more time talking up the fight than aiming barbs at their opponent.
Mayweather, 38, suggested that his unblemished record may give him a psychological advantage over Pacquiao, claiming that "if you lose, it is always in your mind", but also praised the Filipino's camp for making the fight happen.
"I have to be thankful that we have all come together as one to give the world what they want to see," he added.
Pacquiao's confident prediction was retweeted nearly 6,000 times.

"Beating Floyd is good for boxing. When athletes have great success, their success goes to their head. That is bad for boxing," he wrote."I'm here to prove that I can easily beat the undefeated".
The fight is expected to boil down to whether Pacquiao's speed and power can ruffle Mayweather's supreme defensive skills. Pacquiao was in no doubt he could win, referencing his victories over heavier-hitting fighters than Mayweather.
"My footwork and hand combinations will be my advantage. I tell you Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito punch hard. This is boxing and its about punches," he added on Twitter.

I'm a Catholic feminist, and my church needs me more than ever

catholic girl
I recall standing in my grandmother’s kitchen with her yellow Bakelite phone to my ear, waiting on hold for a talkback radio program. I was eight years old, and my family was in another room listening to the Catholic Bishop of Toledo take questions from callers on the local AM station.
Finally it was my turn. “Bishop Donovan,” I said, “I’m in third grade. The priest at our school has come to our class to ask for boys to volunteer to be altar servers. Why can’t girls volunteer too?”
Poor Bishop Donovan. He mumbled something about church tradition and the importance of serving at mass as a first step towards priesthood – where, again, one obviously had to be male – and moved on to the next caller.
Unsatisfactory, I thought. And my career as a Catholic feminist began.
38 years later, I’m still a Catholic and a feminist. I’ve got a degree in religious studies, specialising in feminist theology, and while girls can be altar servers now (take that, Bishop Donovan), we’ve still got a long way to go, baby.
Pope Francis’s recent comment that Catholics need not “breed like rabbits,” while insisting that artificial contraception is still banned, left many shaking their heads. Here was yet another example of the all-male Catholic hierarchy completely failing to understand what it is like to be a woman, or to live in a family, or to exercise control over fertility.
The Catholic church so overtly and fully excludes women from certain jobs and seeks to deny them certain rights that some dismiss the idea that a true feminist can profess the Catholic faith. Yet this is precisely why the Catholic church needs feminists.
The idea that one can’t be a Catholic and a feminist usually starts with a misunderstanding of what it is to be Catholic. In strict technical terms, a Catholic is someone who believes in those things listed in the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed: God, the creator of heaven and earth; Jesus Christ, the son of God who was crucified, died and resurrected; the Holy Spirit; the holy Catholic church (that is, the entire community of those who believe in Jesus Christ); the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
That’s it. No mention in our creeds of artificial contraception, an all-male priesthood, denying communion to divorced people or excluding homosexuals. It’s not particularly surprising – not one of the four Gospels records Jesus passing significant comments on such matters.
Everything in the Catholic church after Jesus’s death and resurrection represents human attempts to interpret and apply the teachings of Christ to our circumstances. Because men fairly exclusively ran the world until very recently, it has been fairly exclusively men in the Catholic church who’ve done the interpreting and applying. Not overly surprising, then, that the result is a set of teachings and rules that exclude and oppress women.
A Catholic feminist insists that women’s experience is just as valid as men’s when it comes to understanding the nature of God, the teachings of Christ, the movement of the Holy Spirit and how we are to live as Christians in the world today.
OK, I hear you saying, but how can a Catholic disagree with the church? Don’t you Catholics believe the (male) pope is infallible? Aren’t you required to follow what the (exclusively male) bishops say?
There’s no simple answer to that question, but the short answer is no. First of all, papal infallibility (and its related concept, the infallibility of the church) is not what people often think it is. The pope is not infallible in every utterance he makes. In fact, he only very occasionally speaks infallibly, and when he does it is specifically noted. For example, the Assumption of Mary (into heaven) is an infallible teaching. The ban on artificial contraception is not.
Secondly, a Catholic has an obligation to follow her fully-formed conscience, even if it brings her into conflict with church teaching. A fully-formed conscience consults not only scripture and church teaching but also the sciences and human experience.
Conscience is a crucially important aspect of Catholic teaching and was given great emphasis in Vatican II, the reforming and modernising council that took place between 1962-65. Conservative popes – such as John Paul II – have sought to redefine conscience in order to discourage debate and dissent, but the role of a fully-formed conscience in the life of Catholics is significant and cannot be extinguished.
A Catholic feminist is a bit like a conscientious objector. She loves what sits at the heart of her faith, and fights what she cannot, in good conscience, accept in her church.
Sometimes people ask me why I don’t just leave such an anachronistic institution and join a Christian church where women can have a say, serve as ordained minsters and formally contribute to theological and moral teachings. Sometimes I ask myself the same question. It’s not easy being a Catholic feminist – sometimes it is downright infuriating – but I love the sacraments and the liturgy of the Catholic church, and I love the value it places on scripture and tradition. Why should I abandon my expression of faith to the all-male hierarchy? Why not stay and advocate for a more inclusive church, better theology, and teachings more reflective of the lived experience of women?
I’m no saint, but when I am most exasperated with the church, I recall that among the communion of saints are hundreds of examples of people who openly disagreed with the church hierarchy. Think of Mary MacKillop – excommunicated at one point – now elevated to sainthood by the same institution that threw her out.
Agitators for change are part of the Catholic church’s rich history: Catholic feminists follow in that tradition.

Apple Watch prices and apps revealed

Apple Watch prices and apps revealed

Apple Watch

Apple's smartwatch collection will range in price from $349 to $17,000 (£299 to £13,500 in the UK) depending on the metals they are made from and the straps they are bought with.
The larger 42mm (1.7in) models of the Watch will cost about $50 more than than the 38mm (1.5in) versions in the lower-priced ranges.
Apple also revealed that the devices are due to go on sale on 24 April.
Rivals' smartwatches have only seen limited sales to date.
A press event held in San Francisco held few surprises about the wearable tech beyond the fact that the mid-range stainless steel edition would start at $549 and go up to $1,099 in the US, and from £479 to £949 in the UK including VAT.
There had been speculation that Apple would seek a bigger price gap between the model and the basic aluminium-based Sport-branded version - something that would have restricted its appeal.
"Apple's pricing demonstrates the confidence it has in the new Apple Watch's functionality, design and consumer appeal," commented Ian Fogg from the consultants IHS.
Apple's website lists a total of 38 models, which might pose a challenge to how it markets them.
Apple Watch
Same specs
The US firm did not announce any difference in specifications between the aluminium, steel and gold-cased versions - there had been speculation that the higher-end editions might have more storage or allow some of their parts to be upgraded at a later point.
"When there were estimates of $700 or $800 for the basic stainless steel versions, I would have expected more than just a difference in materials," said James Moar from Juniper Research.
"The fact Apple hasn't done that is why there is no justification for a higher price."

Ivory Coast's former first lady, Simone Gbagbo, was a powerful politician in her own right.
Ivory Coast's former first lady, Simone Gbagbo, has been sentenced to 20 years in jail for her role in the violence that followed the 2010 elections.

Gbagbo, 65, had been charged with undermining state security.
Her husband, former Ivorian President Laurent Gbagbo, is awaiting trial at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
More than 3,000 people died in the violence that followed the presidential poll after the ex-leader refused to accept defeat to Alassane Ouattara.
She and her husband were arrested in 2011 after troops stormed a bunker where the pair had taken refuge in the main city, Abidjan.
And it was in the same city where Gbagbo - once called the "Iron Lady" and known for her fiery speeches - faced trial. She was also accused of disturbing public order and organising armed gangs.

Friend to Lover – Are You Falling for a Friend?

Am I falling for a friend??
Falling for a friend is like a little dance under the spotlight, especially when you don’t really know how to dance. You jiggle your feet awkwardly with your dance mate, and hope that the audience would never figure that you don't know.
To your surprise, it wouldn't take the audience long to figure your secret out. The same goes with awkward friendships and people who want to go from friends to lovers. They'll notice something weird is going on!! Haven’t you ever been teased with someone, at the very first instance when you blushed or stared a wee bit longer at a ‘friend’? Sometimes Even stealing their photos so could just look at it whenever you wanted to?

Friend to lover or just friends?
Do you want to go from friend to lover? Of course, you want to be a lover, don’t you? You… Yes you naughty little boy! Hey, I’d do the same if I were falling for a friend too. So just stop with the ‘were just friends’ class act.
Listen, wanting to go out is sweet, getting physical and cuddly is sweeter, but there are a few things you need to know before you take the icy plunge. First of all, ask yourself if your friend’s love is truly what you need or its just a crush you have that will soon be dead. Sometimes you get jealous when your friend hooks up with someone else as I call it "killing you softly" .
Going from a friend to lover is a big transition, and you can ask yourself  if you’re falling for a friend a million times but it really depends on a lot of other circumstances too. And it’s tricky business. Most importantly, you need to remember that a lover and a friend are two different people, even if it’s the same person.
I remember one time when I hooked up with a friend a few years ago. She was what I had always wanted, sweet, loving and full of love and humor. But once we did start going out, I saw that she was quite stubborn, just like me. We used to argue a lot, and eventually 2 months after going from a friend to lover, we ended the relationship. It was a bad way to end up a friendship that had lasted two years. We used to like each other a lot when we were friends, but falling for a friend asked for a lot more than just fun times in the open and one thing I never knew is that she never trusted me from day one as she knew my character.
Going from friend to lover – The difference between being friends and falling for a friend
From experience I would say there isn't too much of a difference really. When you’re a good friend, for starters, you could ask your pal if they’re wearing that cute silk underwear they picked up the last time they shopped. But if you’re going out with them, you could probably take a peek too!!
When you’re a best friend, you share all the deepest secrets, like how many girls your dating at the moment and you’re always there for each other no matter what. When you go from friend to lover, you do all of that except telling each others your secrets and ooh.. one More thing, You take each other’s pants off!(that's the Main Difference)
Whatever you do, just do ruin the friendship cause its way worth more than the relationship. From experience I'd say its better you keep it that way or Just start looking for a new Best-friend..lol

How to Kiss a Friend and Get Away with It

Print
Email

Ever been tempted to kiss a friend? While it’s alright to get attracted to a friend, It’s not always the safest bet to make a move. Find out how to kiss a friend and get away with it!

Kissing a friend is a tempting proposition.
But unless it’s a mutual desire, it’s best to stay away from such complications.
But if you really do want to get frisky with a pal, here’s your guide on how to kiss a friend, the easy way.
It’s sneaky, but hey, if sexual desire matters more than friendship to you, why not give this a go?
How to kiss a friend
Have you ever tried to kiss a friend? In most cases, it just doesn’t work out.
Your friend may be shocked, surprised, or may want to stay away from you.
But if you really do like a friend and want to take it further down the path of love, then this piece on kissing a friend may not be appropriate for you.
But on the other hand, if you just want know how to kiss a friend, and then worry about your mixed feelings later, this may be the easiest way forward.
There are a few times when you can kiss a friend and get away with it, and a few other times when it’s just completely inappropriate to kiss a friend.
Firstly we’ll get to the five ways by which you could kiss a friend out of the blue, with no preamble or even a hint that you’re attracted to your friend.
#1 Kissing a friend when you’re drunk
This is pretty much the safest way to kiss a friend and get away with it. And let’s face it, more than half the first kisses between friends use this move. When you’re out with this friend you like or at a party, have a few drinks and wait for the booze to kick in. And once you’re feeling the buzz, use that as the perfect accidental excuse. Try and get the coziest spot next to your friend, preferably an isolated spot.
Start a conversation with your friend and eventually start whispering to your friend. Of course, you’re *drunk*, aren’t you? Whispering into each other’s ears is completely acceptable when you’re high!
And at some point of the conversation in between all the close facial contact, go right up and kiss your friend. The kiss may last a while longer if you’ve built a lot of sexual chemistry through all the body contact, but even if your friend’s not drunk, you’d still be able to sneak in a quick kiss. And your friend can’t really get upset or do anything about it, after all, you’re drunk out of your mind!
#2 Playing truth or dare
Kissing a friend doesn’t come easier than this. So if you’re ever trying to figure how to kiss a friend, focus on arranging a drinking game like spin the bottle or truth or dare.
Sometimes, you may get a kiss or a lot more than that. But at other times, you may not always end up lucky and another friend may end up kissing the friend you want to kiss. But not to worry, if you didn’t get a chance to kiss your friend during the game, just get drunk and go back to step #1!
#3 Kiss your friend when they’re consoling you
This is a sneaky move, and it’s another common ploy in getting to kiss a friend. Many people use this, and quite frankly, it works very well.
Have you just lost something of value and need some consoling? Everyone needs a friend they’re down and need consoling. So call the friend you like and tell them how *depressed* you are and how much you’d appreciate it if they could come over to your place to cheer you up.
When your friend comes by to your place, snuggle up and hug your friend. Just stay in that position as you mumble your sorry ass story and explain how depressed you are. At some point, you’d know that your friend’s pretty comfortable with the hug too. Now you can linger your hands on their back or go straight for the kiss. The kiss may last a while, or a few seconds. But if it does last, the kiss could lead both of you into bed and even go a lot further. [Read: How to have sex with a friend]
On the other hand, if your friend does take offense, you could apologize profusely and tell your friend you didn’t know what came over you. Yeah right, you effing perv!
  • Times when you just shouldn’t kiss a friend

Now that you know the best tips on how to kiss a friend sneakily and avoid any complications, perhaps it’s time to know the times when you should never really kiss a friend.
#1 When they’re being touchy feely
Look, friends can be touchy feely or every flirty at times. But that’s just not enough of a reason to kiss a friend. Unless the vibes are just right, don’t kiss your friend just because they’re cuddling up or holding your hands. It’s risky and can cost you your friendship and the intimacy. Don't say I didn't warn You
#2 When your friend’s asleep
This is an absolute no-no. As tempting as a sleeping friend can look, you just can’t kiss a friend when they’re asleep even if you’re drunk. There’s every chance that your friend may wake up and think you’re an absolute pervert! And your other friends will have the same opinion too.
#3 When your friend’s hung over
This kind of a situation may work in a porno flick and it’s a great fantasy too, but it’s just not something you should ever do. You may be really desperate or may have been looking for an opportunity like this since forever, but just don’t do it. There are far easier ways, so why bother with this. It’s just really perverse, and you just can’t take advantage of a friend who trusts your company.
An opportunity may crop up some other day, but never kiss a friend if you find yourself in such a situation. Respect your friend and yourself, because if you do take advantage of a drunk friend, that makes you no different than a rapist.
#4 When your friend is grieving
Now it’s natural to feel physically and emotionally connected when you’re hugging a grieving friend, but don’t use the closure and take advantage of the situation. If your friend makes the first move, then go right ahead. But if your friend just wants a shoulder to lean on at a difficult time, be there for your friend as a friend, not a lusty buddy.

Most fascinating green car of 2014: Local Motors Strati

The Strati at its debut in Chicago, Illinois; September 2014. (Local Motors)

Based just outside Phoenix, Arizona, the startup is the car industry’s equivalent of a farm-to-table restaurant. Both espouse the virtues of housing production close to the consumer. Do this, their proprietors contend, and watch the benefits pile up: slashed carbon emissions from lower dependencies on freight vehicles, reduced stress on road infrastructure and a heightened sense of pride in the plated (or garaged) product.

Local Motors has always empowered hobbyists and professionals alike to contribute – via internet-based collaborative tools – towards all aspects of a vehicle’s design and engineering. But it wasn’t until 2014 that the promise of Local’s lofty principles began to take slow, deliberate, painstaking shape.
Rendered in line after line of carbon fibre-infused polymer, the Strati 3-D printed car rolled off the floor of Chicago’s International Manufacturing Technology Show in September. The fully formed, operational electric car was engineered and designed over years, but the printing of its body and final assembly took just two days to complete.
